MagicMail Client Configuration with Automatic Enhancements

When setting up a mail client on your own computer, we have enabled the ability for many clients to receive the configuration details automatically. If it does not work with just your email and password, you may be asked to fill in some details about your email account. Below are some of the details which may be asked. Simply fill in the values specified below into the fields.

For the incoming account:

* Connection Type: IMAP
* Port: 993
* Security Option: SSL
* Hostname: mail.nktelco.net
* Username: <your email address>
* Password: <your password>

For the outgoing account:

* Hostname: mail.nktelco.net
* Port: 587
* Security Option: STARTTLS (TLS)
* Check “My server requires authentication”
* Username: <your email address>
* Password: <your password>

** iPhones/iPads/MacOS devices have their own tool located at: https://mail.nktelco.net/iphone/.  Make sure you visit this link in Safari or it will not work! **

iPhone/iPad

Here are some steps to follow to fix email access on your iPhone:
If you go to Settings, Passwords and Accounts, Select your NKTelco Email Account.
Scroll down to Advanced
Enable SSL
Authentication = Password
Server port = 995
Go back a page
Select SMTP, Select Primary Server (mail.nktelco.net)
hostname = mail.nktelco.net
type in username (full email address)
type in password
enable SSL
Authentication = Password
Server port = 587, hit done
Go Back a page, Hit Done

If you are setting the email account for the first time on your iPhone you can use these instructions:

Auto-configure (IMAP):
The easiest way to do this is to delete your nktelco email account and follow these instructions:
If you open Safari on your iPhone and go to mail.nktelco.net/iphone, type in your name and email address, hit “Download Setup”, Allow, Close.
Go to Settings, General Settings, Profile, Select your NKTelco profile, type in your passcode to your phone (if you have one), and then type in your email password

 


Android Phone/Tablet

*We’ve found that if an android device is not working it’s easiest to remove the account and re-add it (this is because the username is saved as the first part of your email and not the full email address)

Go to your mail, hit the three lines at the top left, go to settings
within settings select your nktelco email account and remove it

Select add account, other
type in your full email address and password
hit Manual Setup
select IMAP as the account type

Fill out this information using these settings:
For incoming account:
* Connection Type: IMAP
* Port: 993
* Security Option: SSL
* Hostname: mail.nktelco.net
* Username: <your email address>
* Password: <your password>

For the outgoing account:
* Hostname: mail.nktelco.net
* Port: 587
* Security Option: STARTTLS (TLS)
* Check “My server requires authentication”
* Username: <your email address>
* Password: <your password>

 


Windows Live Mail

  • Click on the Blue Tab at the top left
  • Go to Options, Email Accounts
  • Select your NKTelco Account and Click Properties
  • Go to the Server Tab 
  • Ensure the following settings are used
  • Incoming mail = mail.nktelco.net
  • Outgoing mail = mail.nktelco.net
  • Email username = full email address
  • Select Log on using clear text authentication
  • Check Mark My server requires authentication
  • Go to the Advanced Tab
  • Outgoing Mail (SMTP) = 587
  • Check Mark This server requires SSL
  • Incoming Mail (POP3) = 995
  • Check Mark This server requires SSL
  • Click Ok, Click Close

 


Thunderbird

**Most issues are fixed by switching the Authentication method from Encryption password to Normal Password.

  • Right Click on your email address (on the left) and go to Settings
  • Under Server Settings change the Authentication method from Encryption password to Normal Password
  • Click on Outgoing Server (SMTP)
  • Edit
  • Change the Authentication method from Encryption password to Normal Password
  • Hit Ok, and hit Ok again

 


Outlook (2019)

  • Go to File at the top left
  • Click on Account Settings and then Server Settings
  • Verify the following settings
  • Username = full email address
  • Incoming Server = mail.nktelco.net
  • Incoming server port = 995
  • Check Mark “This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL/TLS)”
  • Outgoing Mail Server = mail.nktelco.net
  • Outgoing server port = 587
  • Encryption Method = Auto
  • Username = Full Email address
  • Click Next and then Done

 


Outlook (2013 & 2016)

  • Go to File at the top left
  • Click on Account Settings and then Account Settings again
  • Select your NKTelco email account and hit change (above)
  • Verify the following settings
  • Incoming Mail Server = mail.nktelco.net
  • Outgoing Mail Server = mail.nktelco.net
  • Username = Full Email address
  • Click More Settings at the bottom right
  • Click on the Outgoing Server Tab
  • Checkmark “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication”
  • Click on the Advanced tab and verify the following settings
  • Incoming server port = 995
  • Check mark “This server requires encrypted connection (SSL)”
  • Outgoing server port = 587
  • Use the following type of encrypted connection (auto or TLS)
  • Hit Ok, Click Next, Finish

 


Outlook (2007)

  • Go to Tools, Account Settings
  • Select your NKTelco email account and hit change (above)
  • Verify the following settings
  • Incoming Mail Server = mail.nktelco.net
  • Outgoing Mail Server = mail.nktelco.net
  • Username = Full Email address
  • Click More Settings at the bottom right
  • Click on the Outgoing Server Tab
  • Checkmark “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication”
  • Click on the Advanced tab and verify the following settings
  • Incoming server port = 995
  • Check mark “This server requires encrypted connection (SSL)”
  • Outgoing server port = 587
  • Use the following type of encrypted connection (auto or TLS)
  • Hit Ok, Click Next, Finish

 


Mac (Macbook, iMac)

  • Open Mail Client (Mac Mail)
  • Click on Mail at the top left and go to Preferences
  • Click on Accounts
  • Select Email Address on the left
  • Go to the Server Settings tab
  • Incoming Settings 
  • Username = Full Email address
  • Hostname = mail.nktelco.net
  • Check mark “Automatically manage connection settings”
  •  Outgoing Settings
  • Username = Full Email address
  • Check mark “Automatically manage connection settings”
