NKTelco Expands Multi-Gigabit Fiber Optic Network

Marysville, OH to enjoy expanded suite of services

New Knoxville, Ohio (September 19, 2022) – NKTelco, a leading provider of advanced fiber services in West Central OH, is expanding its multi-gigabit fiber-to-the-premise (FTTP) network in Marysville and the surrounding area.   This project is fully funded by NKTelco and will provide FTTP services with symmetrical, Gig+ Internet service to commercial customers, with plans to service residential customers in the near future.

Capacity for the new network will be a combination of leased and new construction.  NKTelco is leasing an existing all-fiber network owned by the Union County Council of Governments (UCCOG).  The targeted areas offer a great high-tech business environment and are positioned to be gateway communities for many advanced services that can support digital growth and economic development.

NKTelco has also built and provides Gig+ services to residential and business customers in Auglaize, Shelby, and Mercer counties.

“Multi-Gigabit speeds are becoming highly important as more people work remotely or need access to education and other online applications”, said Preston Meyer, General Manager of NKTelco.   “We have built FTTP networks for more than 20 years, and we look forward to providing Marysville and the surrounding area with a new, competitive choice for Internet and entertainment”, said Meyer.  “The team at NKTelco focusses on providing exceptional customer service as well as deploying technology to future proof the network.”

“We look forward to the expansion of NKTelco’s multi-gig fiber services,” said Terry Emery, UCCOG President.  “This partnership will help ensure that the data needs of our community are supported now and, in the future, and will coalesce nicely to enhance the 33 Smart Mobility Corridor in The Beta District.”

This network expansion is part of an ongoing construction plan in partnership with NKTelco’s new parent, Schurz Communications.  Some of the benefits of a fiber network include:

  • Greater reliability
  • Access to expanded broadband speeds, higher data capacity and bandwidth
  • Less susceptible to outside interference

NKTelco’s expanded network will deliver multi-gig Internet speeds and all-digital TV and phone service to residential customers.  Business customers will enjoy access to data connections scalable up to 100 Gigs, cloud-hosted voice solutions and customized TV channel packages.

NKTelco plans to hire local sales, customer service, and service technicians to support its continued expansion. For those interested in joining the NKTelco team, visit https://www.nktelco.com/careers/.
